Making A Purchase Not all creatures will be suited to our cage environments, and we do not advise on this matter. The insects and spider pictured on our logo illustrate a small number of the wealth of species in the UK (both in the wild and kept as pets); they are not necessarily indicative of species that will be suited to rearing or study using our products. If you are in any doubt, we recommend that you order a sample of our material and/or consult a specialist breeder before purchasing one of our products.
To make purchase browse our store and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order. Our T&Cs are available on finalising all orders placed online, and the T&Cs checkbox must be ticked to complete the checkout process. Further copies of our T&Cs may be sent in any additional correspondence between us, and are also available on request.
If you have made a mistake in your order and cannot correct it in the shopping cart, contact us IMMEDIATELY BY EMAIL and/ or PHONE. Once the mistake has been corrected, we will email you to confirm.
The display of goods on the Insectopia website (www.insectcage.net) amounts to an invitation to treat only and is not an offer to sell products or services at any price indicated. Contracts for the supply of our goods from JoTech (us/we) to the consumer (you/your) become legally binding when, in the case of our standard products, payment has been made by you to us. This rule applies except for EXCEPTIONAL PRODUCTS as listed below.
On receipt of your order, Insectopia will send you a confirmation email which is an acceptance by us of your offer to buy goods or services from us. This acceptance is effective regardless of whether or not you receive the e-mail. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We have included this term to protect us should there have been a mistake in pricing, or should we be unable to supply a particular product for some reason. In such cases, we will always contact you first to ensure that the changed price, substituted goods, or delivery delay is acceptable.
We are free to withdraw from a prospective contract at any time prior to the point at which they become legally binding. This also applies in the case of any error or inaccuracy in respect of the goods or services, any description applied to the goods or services, the availability of the goods or services, or the order itself.
Contracts for the supply of our goods from us to you, and payment from you to us become legally binding when your order has been received and confirmed by us in the below cases. Please note that your cancellation rights will end as soon as we start carrying out the contract - ie begin production of the goods.
a) sales of cloth or net which has been cut to size specifically for your order
b) specially designed/ bespoke products; or products that have been in any way modified from our standard production line. Such items will normally be subject to a documented agreement (including letter or email).
c) bulk purchases (10+) of any standard item, as in such cases your goods will be made specifically for your order.
Shipping And Handling Shipping and handling is as per our advertised rates, which may change from time to time, wiithout prior warning. Shipping includes labour, packaging, and postage charges. You will normally be given the choice between our standard and express delivery services when checking out. On larger orders or products, express delivery may not be available.

Delivery Schedule Goods sent by standard delivery are normally dispatched within 5 working days of receiving cleared payment, except for EXCEPTIONAL PRODUCTS as listed in these terms and conditions where the delay may be longer. Occasionally we may take longer to ship your order; we will contact you to agree a delivery dispatch date if an unavoidable delay is encountered. From time to time our office is temporarily closed, or special occasions (eg Christmas) can cause delays or disruption. For such events we post a prominent notice on the home page of our website giving standard dispatch dates
If you need goods by a specific date, please contact us before checking out to ensure that we can deliver by that date.
You must inform us within two working days if the goods are damaged in transit, or you believe they have been lost so that we can make a prompt claim against the delivery company and correct the problem. In the case of damaged goods, photographs that clearly show the nature and extent of the damage must be provided. Please quote your order number in all correspondence. With goods sent via the Royal Mail, please note that we may not be able to progress any order for lost goods until 15 working days after the approximate date on which goods should have been delivered - this is Royal Mail policy.
Deliveries are attempted Monday to Saturday, 8am to 8pm. Orders over £25 will require a signature on delivery. Please ensure that there will be someone at the shipping address you have given us who will be able to receive and, if necessary, sign for your parcel during these times. You agree that proof of delivery supplied by our delivery company is sufficient evidence to establish that goods have been received. If you specifically ask us to leave an item with a neighbour or in an unsecured place then this request is entirely at your own risk, and JoTech will not be held liable for any theft of goods or consequential loss which occurs as a result of us complying with your instructions.
Most carriers make a minimum of 2 attempts to deliver. If delivery to the designated customer address fails (for example due to refusal to sign, or no-one being available to receive the parcel, failure or refusal to pay customs charges or taxes, or similar) and goods are returned to us by the carrier, Insectopia reserve the right to recoup from you any associated costs which may be incurred. These typically include, but may not be limited to, return or failed postal charges, and import or export charges. Further shipping will not be attempted until these costs, and any additional costs associated with re-shipping the returned goods, have been paid by you. If you choose not to have your goods re-delivered we will refund your payment for the goods less: all initial shipping costs including postage, packing and administration, plus any charges or costs involved in the return of the goods to us.
In addition for non-UK customers, should the shipment be refused entry to the country and as a result be confiscated or destroyed by the relevant overseas customs agency as a result of your failure to arrange documentation or to pay charges relating to importation, Insectopia will not: pay for or supply you with replacement goods, reimburse you any sums you have already paid to us, or be held liable for any consequential loss or any other costs caused or incurred by you as a result of your failure to successfully complete the process of importation.
Subject to the other provisions of these terms and conditions we will not be liable for any direct, indirect or consequential loss (all three of which terms include, without limitation, pure economic loss, loss of profits, loss of business, depletion of goodwill and similar loss), costs, damages, charges or expenses caused directly or indirectly by any delay or failure in the delivery of the goods.
Back Orders If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. Back ordering is more commonly required where more than 10 of any item are required, or where the polyester or white nylon netting is required.
You will always be given the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.
Tax Charges Price and availability information is subject to change without notice. All our products are subject to the standard rate of 20% VAT for orders placed in the UK. All other destinations are zero-rated.
Overseas customers (or the company they represent) will be liable for any local or international import licences, customs clearance permits, or similar importation documents, Customers outside the UK should also note that we do not include any local or national taxes, importation costs, or customs fees in the price of goods on the Insectopia website. Non-UK customers are therefore laible for the payment of customs duty, taxes, licenses or charges required for the release of imported goods.
Credit Card Security When the order is placed at our website, credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.
Guarantee All our standard products are manufactured in house, and every effort is made to ensure that these reach you in perfect condition. Should there be any problem with your purchase, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Please note that in the case of any bespoke or personalised products, it is your responsibility to ensure that your instructions are clear and complete, and that we are therefore able to interpret your requirements correctly. It is also your responsibility to ensure that such goods are safe and fit for purpose. We will produce all items to the specification and / or dimensions laid out in our business quote, but cannot be held responsible for any error, inaccuracy, lack of clarity, oversight, or omission in your brief.

JoTech Ltd (t/a Insectopia) do not disclose buyers' information to third parties other than when courier services are used, in which case we will disclose the shipping contact name, address, email, and phone number. It may also be necessary to disclose the approximate value of the order for goods-insurance or export purposes.
If you send us written feedback about our products, we may use your comments on our website. Should we do so, your identity will not be disclosed. If you provide photographs of our product(s) in use, we will not publish these photographs without directly seeking your written permission (normally via email), including permission for named photo-credit.
Data is stored for no more than 7 years, to enable us to comply with UK legal financial and auditing requirements. After this time computer records are removed from our system, and paper records are shredded.
Returns Policy Your rights to return goods are protected under the Distance Selling Directive and the Consumer Contracts Regulations (2013).
Should you wish to cancel your contract with us, please do so within fourteen working days after the day on which you received the goods. Please note that you have no right of cancellation with respect to EXCEPTIONAL PRODUCTS as listed in our terms and conditions. For your security cancellation must be in writing (which includes letter or email) as this provides a clear record of what has been requested and when.
Goods should be returned to us with or in their original packaging, and you have a statutory duty to ensure that all due care is taken to ensure that they reach us in their unused and original condition. When returning items include the invoice number or order number, your name and address, and please let us know whether you would like us to exchange the item or refund you. If you prefer, a returns form can be provided on request so please do not hesitate to ask if you would like a copy.
Where returning goods as unwanted or where you refuse to accept delivery (including failure to pay customs, importation, or local taxes), any and all of the following costs associated with the return of the goods will be borne by you: shipping costs, financial transaction costs, and customs or legal costs. If you are returning goods and they become damaged in transit, the cost of any damage or wear will be deducted from your refund; we therefore recommend that you take out enough postal insurance to cover their full value. If the goods have been excessively handled before their return, such that they are damaged or otherwise unsaleable, a proportional deduction willl also be made from your refund.
EXCEPTIONAL PRODUCTS (including bulk purchases of more than 10 of any cage type, sales of cloth cut to order, or bespoke items) cannot returned or any refunds made. This is because such products have been made specifically for your order.
On receipt of returned goods we will refund your money within 14 days or exchange the goods within the same timeframe, as requested. Within the UK please note that any refund will be the full price you paid for the goods less any non-recoverable costs incurred by us. Non recoverable costs include a] the PayPal transaction fee for goods bought with PayPal; b] express shipping costs over and above standard shipping charges (we will refund the equivalent of the standard shipping price only); c] and costs relating to wear, tear, or damage to the goods whilst in your posession (including during return shipping). Outside the UK the refund will be for the invoiced price minus a] the higher of invoiced or actual shipping costs to ship the goods to you and b] any other financial or administrational costs whatsoever involved in the refund.
This cancellation policy does not affect your rights when we are at fault - for example, if goods are faulty (unless you have already agreed to accept them in their faulty state) or misdescribed.
These terms apply to your current order. We may change our terms and conditions at any time, so please do not assume that the same terms will apply to any order you may make in the future. None of these terms affect your legal rights and these are not diminished in any way. If any term is held to be invalid under any applicable statute or rule of law, that term is automatically omitted from the terms to minimum extent necessary to comply with the law and without affecting the validity or enforceability of the remainder.
Remittance Terms All goods must be paid for in full before they will be released to you, unless agreed in advance in writing (which includes email).
